Michael’s burial details
-Michael Jackson will be buried at a Los Angeles cemetery today shortly before a gala tribute to the pop icon at the Staples Center, the city’s acting mayor said. The funeral will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery two hours before the memorial service at the downtown Staples Center. This is the same cemetery where Lucille Ball, Ed Mc Mahon, Liberachi and a host of others were buried. It’s said that he will be put to rest in a $25,000, solid bronze, 14-karat gold plated, custom casket. This is the same rare casket used to bury James Brown.
-It was originally thought that Michael’s body would be at the Staples Center for fans to mourn but the family refused. Jackson’s death has unleashed a flurry of fan tributes and media attention, raising fears that his funeral would turn into a circus. What seems most important to MJ’s family and close friends is that he is put to rest with dignity and respect. His life was a media circus, they did not want his memorial to be the same.

I still can’t believe it…..
When I woke up I was hoping it was a bad dream but unfortunately it is not. I had this sent to me in an email this morning and it pretty much sums it up….
Nobody cares what he did to his face.
Nobody cares what he did to his voice.
Nobody really cares about the three-ring circus surrounding his life.
Michael Jackson was the greatest music artist of our time.
I won’t remember the court battles.
I won’t remember the monkey.
I won’t remember the allegations.
The only thing I’ll remember is this:
Every car in the Bronx and Yonkers was playing Michael. It was so
surreal, so sad, yet so wonderful and beautiful at the same time.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michael Jackson, the moonwalking former child star who became known the world over as the “King of Pop” before his life and career deteriorated in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press. He was 50.
The person said Jackson died in a Los Angeles hospital. The person was not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity.
The circumstances of his death were not immediately clear. Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m., Capt. Steve Ruda told the Los Angeles Times. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told the newspaper.
