George Clooney’s high-profile fundraiser for President Barack Obama has sold out, raising an estimated $12 million for the president’s re-election campaign.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, 150 Obama supporters have paid $40,000 each to dine with the president at Clooney’s Los Angeles home on May 10. Those tickets alone raised $6 million. An additional $6 million is expected to come in from individuals who entered a contest that seats winners at the table with Obama and Clooney. The contest, aimed at cultivating grassroots support, asked donors to give as little as $3 to the campaign for a chance at winning two tickets, plus airfare, to the event.

During a CNBC interview on Monday, President Obama called Kanye West a “jackass” regarding his behavior at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Obama’s colorful remark was actually made in an off-the-record portion of the interview that was tweeted — and then deleted — by ABC News reporter Terry Moran.
“Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jackass’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential,” Moran wrote.
Politico’s Michael Calderone has ABC’s statement apologizing for Moran’s journalistic breach.
In this image released by Perez Hilton, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is shown with an injury beneath his eye, Monday, June 22, 2009, in Toronto. Hilton, whose name is real is Mario Lavandeira, says he got into argument with Fergie and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas at a Toronto nightclub early Monday and was punched outside the club by Polo Molina, the band’s manager. Additional marks on the side of Hilton’s head and forehead, are from pink paint he wore while attending the MuchMusic Video Awards. (AP Photo/Perez Hilton)
Perez Hilton isn’t apologizing for using a gay slur, and says he’s never claimed to be a spokesperson for the gay community.
The celebrity blogger said in a statement Tuesday that he will continue to say things upsetting to gay and straight people alike. The comments came after the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation called for Hilton to apologize for unleashing the word during an altercation with Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am.
Hilton said he felt physically threatened and sought the most hurtful thing he could say during the confrontation at a Toronto nightclub early Monday. Police charged the band’s tour manager with assault for allegedly punching Hilton.
Hilton said he did what he thought best to stand up for himself.
So basically he just added to the use of the “F” word as a slur! I wonder if will.i.am called him that how he would have reacted????
Nude photos of Rihanna, or what is supposedly Rihanna, are floating around the web.
Seven pictures have been posted [WARNING: GRAPHIC] that show various body parts, including two close ups of what is clearly Rihanna’s face and a third photo of Rihanna head-to-knee reflected in a bathroom mirror with a message of “I love you” scrawled on it.
All seven shots seem to be self taken in the same white bathroom and bedroom area.
The four shots that do not include Rihanna’s head in them include two of a bare bottom as seen reflected in a mirror, one of a dark lacquer-nailed hand squeezing a bottom and a photo of an undressed torso from a reflection in a mirror.
Rihanna has been in New York all week, starting with Monday’s Vogue-sponsored Met gala, in her first public appearances since the Grammy-eve fracas with then-boyfriend Chris Brown.
Late Friday her record label reportedly got involved and sent out a letter to a website that published the pics demanding that they be removed, calling the photos a violation of “the Artist’s rights.”

Columbia Pictures is back in the dojo with a new version of the 1984 hit “The Karate Kid,” which has been refashioned as a star vehicle for Jaden Smith.
The film will be produced by Jerry Weintraub (who launched the original franchise) and Overbrook Entertainment’s James Lassiter, Will Smith and Ken Stovitz. Will Smith, who is the 10-year-old actor’s father, co-starred alongside Jaden in his feature debut, “The Pursuit of Happyness,” which Overbrook and Escape Artists produced for Columbia.
The script is being written by Chris Murphy, and the film will shoot next year in Beijing and other cities. While the new film will be set in that exotic locale, it will borrow elements of the original plot, wherein a bullied youth learns to stand up for himself with the help of an eccentric mentor.
China Film Group Corp. will co-produce in China.
The younger Smith, who next stars in “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” is a martial arts practitioner.
