Lauryn Hill just pled guilty to a major federal crime … admitting she intentionally failed to file several tax returns in the past decade — and now the former Fugees singer faces 3 years in prison.
Hill pled guilty today to three counts of failure to file tax returns for the years 2005, 2006, and 2007 — when she earned more than $1.8 million.
When the judge asked if Hill “intentionally and willingly” failed to file the returns, she replied, “Yes.”
In addition to the 3 years behind bars, Hill could be smacked with $75,000 in fines.
Hill was released on $150,000 bail. Her sentencing hearing is set for November.
I think he hit his peak and should just start directing. Honestly who wants to see a 6 foot 5 man running around the screen threading to bust someone’s @ss anymore lol! Granted ‘Good Deeds’ needed a Madea character in it. Anyways the film is supposedly getting not so great reviews. Below is an example of what is being said. By the way I didn’t even know Denise Richards is in this movie. Smdh…
Madea’s Witness Protection review: Protect us from Tyler Perry
As the incredibly awkward title suggests, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection is less a movie than it is an exercise in product branding.
It’s a product that has long passed its sell-by date, not that this matters to writer/director/producer Perry and his unaccountably loyal audience.
This is the seventh issue from the Madea franchise at Perry’s Atlanta film factory, wherein this 6-foot-5 male yet again dons fat padding, wig and glasses to play a sassy African-American matriarch.
Besides the title stereotype, Madea Simmons, Perry also plays her brother Joe, who lives and bickers with her in a large Atlanta home with unmown grass and pink flamingos out front. The unstoppable Perry also plays Joe’s son Brian, a federal prosecutor who’s just trying to do some good.
Any hope that Perry might be running out of ideas or steam is drowned out by the ka-ching! of his mighty Madea cash register, which has only its good nature going for it.
The sole inspiration he needed for this film was a news report about the arrest of Ponzi fund scammer Bernie Madoff. What if Madoff were put under the suspicious gaze of cantankerous Madea in her all-black neighbourhood?
“I recognize the extremely poor judgment that I used . . . in having an affair six years ago — including the embarrassing communication I exhibited during that time,” the Brooklynite said in a statement. “I made some egregious errors. . . . With deepest regret, I want to apologize to my church family. I was wrong. We must live holy.”
The Jacksons’ marriage survived, but Adams held on to the pictures like a time bomb while nursing a grudge against the one-time All Star.
In one message to Shaw before the shakedown, she exhorted him to “concentrate and f— (Jackson) up! he is a Fake ass man of god.”
Jackson was approached two months ago at a Memphis hotel by Shaw, 40. The suspect showed Jackson a folder with the damning photos and the CD.
Jackson quickly paid $5,000 cash and destroyed the materials — only to have his tormentor resurface two weeks later in a series of emails, officials said.
Jackson’s wife of 22 years was contacted next with a threatening message regarding the photos.

OH! and I guess she just let the cat out the bag that she is not pregnant anymore….

ESSENCE.com: What’s been going on in your life since you officially left Real Housewives of Atlanta?
SHEREE WHITFIELD: I’ve been spending more time with my kids and my family and planning my next move. I’ve got a couple projects that I’m working on that I’m really excited about. I’ve partnered with a company called Xooma to create a 5 million-pound fitness challenge. We’re trying to help a generation get healthy. I’m really excited about it because this is my realm and what I love.
ESSENCE.com: RHOA is so successful. Was it daunting to make the decision to leave?
SHEREE: Well, you know what, I had been thinking about it for a while. We don’t see the show until it airs, or a couple days before it airs. Even when we were taping, there were a few things I wasn’t happy with as far as how I was portrayed. I was going through some really tough things in my life and watching back and seeing how it affected not only my life, but also my kids’ lives, I made a decision that I didn’t want to be selfish. My kids come first.
ESSENCE.com: How do you respond to people who say that you were actually fired instead of quitting?
SHEREE: I don’t have a response to that. I could really care less because I know what happened. It was an amicable split. I was ready to move and I don’t need to explain myself to anybody. I am super happy and I’m moving in a different direction. This is what I know. I’m not about just being on a show bickering and fighting with women. There are big parts of my life that weren’t shown that I’m ready for everybody to see.
ESSENCE.com: Speaking of behavior on the show, is there somewhere you can take responsibility? The producers do put you in that situation, yes, but it’s still you doing it.
SHEREE: Definitely. You’re being put in situations with people you normally won’t be around. You’re doing the show, but at the same time, you can’t control the editing. It’s crazy, the negative stereotype that Black women get about this when it’s not a racial issue; it’s a gender issue. We’re very emotional beings — women period, not just Black women or White women or Italian women or Asian women. We’re all the same way. But unfortunately, [in] the Black community there’s always a microscope on what we do and that’s not fair because you have other shows like Jersey Shore — they’re getting drunk and fist fighting. Then you have Mob Wives and Housewives of New Jersey — they’re flipping tables. Everybody handles things differently. When you have women of other races doing it, they’re not boycotting them. I don’t think it’s fair the stereotype that they put on African-American women, or females period.
ESSENCE.com: So why do you think people react like that to Black women on these shows?
SHEREE: I don’t know. We’re not here to represent the entire Black community.
ESSENCE.com: When you say you were going through tough times during the last season, are you talking specifically about your child support issues with your ex-husband Bob Whitfield or your life in general?
SHEREE: In general. Bob and I have been going through a lot since day one, and then the child support thing happened. All the drama on the show didn’t help. I don’t want my daughter thinking it’s okay when you have women constantly — we didn’t fight — but we bickered and we had arguments all the time. You’re put in situations where you’re with people that you wouldn’t normally be hanging out with.
ESSENCE.com: How are you and Bob now? Have you worked out the child support issues?
SHEREE: No, we haven’t. One day I hope Bob and I can sit down and become good friends and even better parents to our kids.
ESSENCE.com: Are you keeping in touch with any of your co-stars?
SHEREE: Actually I just saw Kandi last night. I wish all the girls the best. The ones that I like and the ones that I don’t like, I wish everybody the best.
ESSENCE.com: Was anyone on that show a genuine friend to you?
SHEREE: I would say there’s a couple, yes. I won’t name them but they know. But I would definitely say there are two people.
ESSENCE.com: You and NeNe [Leakes] showed how much you didn’t like each other on that reunion show. Has anything been resolved between you two?
SHEREE: Resolved how? I don’t think we’ve had a friendship for some years. I’m surrounding myself with confident people so I’m just living life and having a good time and doing me.
ESSENCE.com: Have you heard about former Miss USA Kenya Moore possibly replacing you?
SHEREE: Honestly, I haven’t followed the show since I left. I know they’ve thrown a lot of names out. I wish whoever gets the spot the best of luck.
ESSENCE.com: How is construction on your new home, a.k.a. Chateau Sheree, going?
SHEREE: It’s going really great. You know, that takes time, and I want it done right. I don’t want nobody to come over, blow on it and it falls down.
Tia Mowry, who plays the selfish yet lovable lead role of “Melanie Davis” on “The Game,” revealed to her fans that she will not be back for the sixth season of the hit show.
The new mom stated via her Twitter:

Not that his opinion on this really matters….. but Jay-Z has come out in support of President Obama’s recent endorsement of gay marriage. In a recent interview with CNN, the rapper said he believed supporting gay marriage was “the right thing to do.”
For more on the story, including Jay-Z’s thoughts on whether Obama is a threat to the business community, head over to CNN.
“I’m Rocky, one of the gay guy’s assistants,” NeNe told The Huffington Post on the red carpet for NBC’s upfront presentations in New York on Monday. “I take it very personal, honey, if you talk about my gays, honey. Only I can talk about them and I’m fabulous.
“She’s very different from Roz Washington on ‘Glee'; she’s always in workout outfits and sneakers. Rocky wears high heels every day. This is very fitting for me because in my real life, you don’t mess with my gays, honey,” NeNe said, snapping. “I don’t play that.”
King was a little out of the loop when it came to NeNe and her stardom. “I’m from London … everyone was absolutely losing their shit meeting NeNe … at the table read everyone was like, ‘Oh my god’ and I felt so ignorant and everyone was taking pictures of NeNe going, ‘Oh my god, I’m going to Twitter it!’ So I was going, ‘I should take one too!'”

George Clooney’s high-profile fundraiser for President Barack Obama has sold out, raising an estimated $12 million for the president’s re-election campaign.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, 150 Obama supporters have paid $40,000 each to dine with the president at Clooney’s Los Angeles home on May 10. Those tickets alone raised $6 million. An additional $6 million is expected to come in from individuals who entered a contest that seats winners at the table with Obama and Clooney. The contest, aimed at cultivating grassroots support, asked donors to give as little as $3 to the campaign for a chance at winning two tickets, plus airfare, to the event.

Kim talks like trailer trash. Nene could add some flair to this show opposed to She by Sheree. I think Nene and Kim need to reconsider the things they have said about one another. If they were once friends, Their differences should have been resolved along time ago and never went that far and not let a lil fame come between them. That’s what friends do, they come to terms and blow it off. They allowed the show to come between their friendship and exploit them. The funny part is that neither of them were no-bodies before the show, but you wouldn’t think that by the way they carry it. If Kim should leave RHWOA and her show is a flop I wonder what she’ll do?
1. Who wears a stripper jumpsuit to their reception?
2. Why do you want to show side boob when your psychic said his family doesn’t want him to marry you?
3. 1 million dollars for a backyard wedding reception???
4. Why doesn’t Kim give Rose some money so she can get her stairs fixed?
Kim, leaving Rose’s house: “C’mon lets go, I got to pee like a f****** race horse…Let me be careful in my hooker heels”
“There are a lot of people who have tried to define me as a person,” Love, a daughter of Haitian immigrants, told CNN’s Kyra Phillips in an interview Tuesday. “I’m not a victim, and I don’t allow anybody to put me in a box. There may be some challenges. But … I love this place and love the people that are here, and I represent their beliefs and values.”

After George Zimmerman took the stand during his bond hearing and told Trayvon Martin’s parents that he was sorry for the loss of their son, a Florida judge Friday set Zimmerman’s bond at $150,000.
The judge set a number of conditions, including GPS monitoring. The judge said Zimmerman wouldn’t have the opportunity to be released Friday, because his attorney and state authorities needed to hammer out the monitoring and other logistics.
Friday’s bond hearing also included testimony from one of the state’s main investigators in the case, with Zimmerman attorney Mark O’Mara challenging the state’s assertions. Under questioning, the investigator said the state didn’t have evidence to contradict Zimmerman’s account that Martin started the fight that led to the shooting, but he did say evidence did call into question other parts of Zimmerman’s account.
Well-coifed Black men in pink and green outfits. Flawless make-up. Pearl bracelets. When images of presumably gay men dressed like Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority members surfaced on the Internet, message boards lit up across Black America as folks expressed concern that the men had created their own unofficial chapter of AKA.
Photos of inductees to the Tri Alpha Chapter of MIAKA (Men Interested in Alpha Kappa Alpha) from Texas Southern University and Prairie View A&M were published on a BET.com forum that became a user showdown. Black radio lines buzzed, and Houston’s CBS affiliate ran a story.
The media portrayed the group as a rogue “new” faction of gay men, dead set on infiltrating AKA, the nearly century-old sorority. AKA National stressed MIAKAs had “no official or unofficial standing with the sorority.” MIAKAs claimed foul play. Both parties threatened lawsuits.
Update: June 11, 2012: MediaTakeOut.com just learned that a group of GAY MEN plan on filing a lawsuit against the prestigious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. You see the GAY MEN believe that they should have the opportunity to pledge the sorority.
For now, the gay men have created a non-sanctioned “sister” sorority to the AKAs . . . and they call it the MiAKAs. The MIAKAs use the same hand signs, the same steps, and the same COLORS as the traditional AKAs.
According to Mediatakeout.com. Is this real or another NeNe and Gregg?
March 26, 2013: MediaTakeOut.com learned that on Friday, Kordell Stewart filed to DIVORCE his Atlanta Housewives’ wife Porsha – the two had been married for two years.
What happened??? . . . the Atlanta Housewives SHOW happened. MediaTakeOut.com REPORTED to you last week that Kordell Stewart PUT HIS FOOT DOWN and told Porsha that he did not want her to be a part of the Atlanta Housewives anymore. Kordell believed that the shows SCRIPTED scenes were DESTROYING both their images, and putting undo PRESSURE on their marriage.
Porsha initially agreed and told KORDELL that she would not be rejoining the cast. But according to MediaTakeOut.com’s insider, Porsha went BEHIND Kordell’s back, and began NEGOTIATING with Bravo to stay on the show.
Kordell found out . . . and he was HOT!!! The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, “Kordell was furious, he felt that [Porsha] was lying to him. And he filed for DIVORCE.” The first words on the divorce petition are “Petitioner [Kordell Stewart], after marrying respondent, a cast member on the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” . . . ”
But don’t get too excited just yet. Our insider claims that Porsha’s marriage can STILL BE SAVED . . .if she decided to QUIT the Housewives show for good.

[Yonkers, NY – January 28, 2012] – To ensure no one is left out of consideration for its Junior Construction Panel search,LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Westchester — opening at Ridge Hill in Yonkers, NY on March 27 — announced today’s submission deadline for the ambassador program has been extended to February 19. For the past three weeks via Facebook, eager Mini Model Builders have submitted mock news reports and videos for the chance to be selected for the Panel.
The Junior Construction Panel will consist of 12 imaginative and energetic children between the ages of 6 and 12 to serve as ambassadors for LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester throughout the year. If selected to the panel, winners will receive a special “box of imagination,” an annual pass to the attraction and work alongside LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester Master Model Builder Mike Tocidlowski, to help finish plans for new LEGO® models, provide input on what features could be added and best of all, give their official approval when the attraction opens this spring.
In addition, the school with the most entries for the Junior Construction Panel will also be entered for a chance to win a visit from Master Model Builder Mike Tocidlowski.
“Enthusiasm from MINI Model Builders interested in joining our Junior Construction Panel has been amazing, which is apparent from the great videos already submitted,” said Chris Mines, General Manager of LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester. “Understanding that preparation of the video can be time consuming, we decided to extend the deadline to give children, and their busy parents, more time to record and upload their submission.”
How to apply for a spot on the Junior Construction Panel:
- With the help of a parent, guardian or teacher, MINI model builders will create a brief news report video, no longer than 90 seconds, about why they are the area’s biggest LEGO fan or about a LEGO model they’ve built.
- All videos should start with the line, “My name is (INSERT NAME) and I am a LEGOLAND Discovery Center MINI model builder and I want to be on the Junior Construction Panel because…”
- The video should be uploaded to YouTube and the MINI model builder’s information, including the name, city and state of the MINI model builder’s school; the parent, guardian or teacher’s email address; and the YouTube URL of the video, should be filled out on the form at http://on.fb.me/TGSyaP on LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester’s Facebook page.
- Applicants can also send their entry by email to WestchesterJCP@legolanddiscoverycenter.com and LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester will upload the video to YouTube.
Entrants will be judged on creativity, enthusiasm for LEGO and their LEGO models. With the deadline extension, the competition will now close on Tuesday, February 19 and the Junior Construction Panel will be chosen and announced by LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester’s panel of LEGO experts on Friday, March 1, 2013.
