Knicks introduce Stoudemire

NEW YORK — The New York Knicks officially celebrated the signing of Amare Stoudemire on Thursday, and they continue to hold out hope that the celebration will continue Thursday night.

Despite reports that LeBron James is leaning toward joining Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami, the Knicks are keeping the faith that they are still in the race and that James could choose New York.

“I was told that everybody that was out of it would be told at the same time,” Knicks general manager Donnie Walsh said at a press conference to announce Stoudemire’s signing at Madison Square Garden. “I am not sure when that would be. I was pleased with the meeting we had in Cleveland. I thought we were able to present our franchise the way we wanted to. I did think New York was the perfect place for LeBron.”
