That dress was unpretentious,” said Julie Gilhart, the fashion director of Barneys New York. “It said, ‘Be who you are — don’t let someone else tell you how to be.’

”Mrs. Obama, whose staff has said she does not use a personal stylist, “is not sitting around going through fashion look books and having confabs,” said Andre Leon Talley, the editor at large for Vogue.  “She is just going through her closet and picking out what’s right for her.”

  2. I think the dress was terrific! and it looked great on her, I also don´t think it was ramdom that Sasha and Malia wore the colors she wore, Michelle it´s making statements through fashion…
