Arrest Made in Beating Death of Housewives former Fiancé

A man has been arrested in connection with the beating death of Ashley Jewell, the fiancé of Kandi Burruss, a castmember of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta

Homicide detectives arrested the suspect, Fredrick Richardson, who has been charged with voluntary manslaughter, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Jewell, 34, known as A.J., appeared regularly on the hit reality show, often clashing with Burruss’s mother. He died of massive head injuries sustained while in a fight in the parking lot of an Atlanta strip bar called the Body Tap Club.

“Kandi is devastated as she is also mourning the death of her uncle, Ralph Leslie, and is attending his funeral today,” TreMedia said in a statement on behalf of the reality star Saturday. “She has no statement to make at this time and asks for privacy. There are no final details on the death of AJ.”

Richardson was hospitalized with injuries he received during in the altercation, but will be jailed once he’s released by medical staff.

Authorities are “trying to figure out [what happened],” Atlanta police spokesman Officer James Polite told the newspaper. “We had a pretty good number of witnesses that are being cooperative.”

According to police, Jewell worked at the club but he did not know in what capacity.

Burruss reacted to the death with the following messages on her Twitter page:

• im just in one of those moods where i dont wanna talk, i dont wanna b held & told its gonna b ok. i just wanna cry myself 2 sleep, alone.

• I could never n a million years imagine this happening. please pray for AJ’s children. that’s who im the most concerned 4.

• im bout 2 giv my swollen eyes sum rest now. i just wanted to say thanks 2 every1 for their prayers. i gotta get up & go 2 my uncle’s funeral

Burruss’s publicist Lisa Nelson told the Atlanta TV station that Burruss, 33, a singer-songwriter who recorded with the band Xscape and worked with TLC and Mariah Carey, was “stunned and speechless” when told the news.

Trashionistas?

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member Kim Zolciak phoned the morning show to denounce Heckert’s brand-new “Housewives” cover story in Atlanta’s September issue as “trashy” and “nasty.” (listen to Heckert’s B98 interview and Zolciak’s rebuttal here)

The title of said story? “Trashionistas.”

“I expect that kind of story in the Star, not in your hometown magazine,” Zolciak complained. She went on to say that her fellow “Housewives” are also upset by the story as is the show’s network Bravo (apparently, the network doesn’t actually view the content it airs…).

Zolciak said she took particular exception to a passage about her smoking in front of her children (a factoid that Heckert ingeniously unearthed by, well, watching an episode of the show…).

“Don’t talk about my kids,” Zolciak scolded on air. “Irregardless [sic] there was no need to write that…The show is for entertainment purposes.”

Explaining the story’s incendiary headline, Heckert said Tuesday: “An ‘ista’ of any kind is someone who works something to their advantage. These women are peddlers of trash and that works for them. Their ratings are through the roof.”

While the magazine officially hits news stands Thursday, hundreds of attendees at Monday night’s Fashion Cares benefit received an advance copy of the issue in their Jeffrey goody bags. The mag served as quite the conversation starter for folks who paid $500 a piece to support the fund-raiser for the Atlanta AIDS Partnership Fund and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Sniffed one bejeweled attendee to another seated on the front row of the fashion runway as she leafed through the “Housewives” photo spread: “We certainly have become liberal with our use of the word ’socialite’ these days, haven’t we?” OUCH!

Ok is it just me or in last week’s episode when Lisa is commentating on her meeting with Kim… her stomach looks a little plumper in the motherly way?  Hmmmm….  Aww if so congrats

Real Housewives of ATL Season 2 episode 4

Ok so I watched the uncut episode from last week and all I can say is wow! I didn’t know they cut the scene in the restaurant where Sheree pulled Kim’s wig, nor did I know that Lindsay Lohan’s dad was there. LOL! Too funny when NeNe said “Mr. Lindsay Lohan was makin’ me crazy. Go back to Florida Mr. Lohan!” Sheree was wrong she dint’ have to do that…. smh! Dwight as always is hilarious! Kandi’s mom is a hoot! The way she got up and left the photo shoot was like she saw the devil!

The Real Housewives of ATL Season 2 episode 3

LAWD!!!!! Why did Sheree do that???? Pulling on that woman’s wig like that smh…. I give Kim credit she doesn’t back down. I think they are both lying though. They were thick as thieves last season so what gives???? And what is up with Sheree’s friend Ms. size 0 (Tania)! Granted Nene did start it by saying “you need a sandwich.”

Can’t Hold Me Down

This is the week we’ve all been waiting for. I hesitantly decided to meet with two adults to supposedly clear the air and hopefully get back to being friends and instead what happens? She-Ra and He-Man (barely able to run) chase me out onto the street to TRY to pull my wig off. What was pulling my wig off going to do? So classy.

I am absolutely floored at the way these women choose to handle “issues.” Why are you going to come beat my ass over WORDS? How come she didn’t run after Anthony’s (the party planner) ass like she ran after mine? Can we say BULLY?

I’m so over these women and their need to TOUCH people … I really am.

I was so happy to see my girlfriend Jody. I know that this is a television show and it’s edited for your enjoyment, but I was REALLY hurt and saddened by what she did that night. With all of the pulling and tugging, my wrist got cut and I lost a very expensive bracelet that has YET to be found! I wonder who found it … hmmmmm.

I just cracked up at the whole housewarming party. Sheree’s friend Tanya dissed the hell out of NeNe and Lisa. She did have a point! LOL! And why is Sheree asking so many QUESTIONS?

“Whatever happened to customer service?” and “Whatever happened to coming in and saying hello?”

I have a question for Sheree: WHATEVER HAPPENED TO DIGNITY AND CLASS?! And especially in public!

This episode really just brought me back to my intense feelings on how unnecessary violence is. I don’t have a violent bone in my body, so it is really hard for me to process the fight and no matter how hard they push me or how many times they call me a “LIAR,” I will continue to STAND. I’ll stand because if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. And I haven’t fallen YET so keep trying!
