Today on Oprah the cast of the Cosby show has a reunion minus Lisa Bonet and Phylicia Rashad. Lisa Bonet, who played Denise, wasn’t able to make the reunion because she just had a baby. Everyone looks like they are doing well for themselves.
Bill Cosby joins his TV children via satellite so he can put “Dad’s” two cents in. When critics would tell him that black families didn’t really live like the Huxtables, Bill was glad to have the support of his cast. “The pleasure of all of this is not one of those people that you’re sitting with has ever been at a loss to straighten people out about what the intention was of the show,” he says. “And that makes me very, very proud.”
For Bill, his response to critics who said they had never seen a black family like the Huxtables was simple. “My answer’s always been, ‘Well, you need to get out more often.’”
It was sooooooo good to see the Cosby (kids) show reuion…… I wish they can do a Reuion Tv Show with everybody, including the Grandparents, Elvin & Sondra twins, Denise & martin…. Everybody!
It would be nice to see a reunion tv show. I think the Cosbys were a great depiction of a Black American family. I I hate when people say that black people didn’t live the way they did. Bill Cosby’s own immediate family lives better than this. There are many other black families that are well off. And though the Cosby family was well off, it didn’t stop them from addressing controversial issues in the show. There were episodes about drugs, sex and smoking. No matter what people say, the show was on the air for 12 years. So, they must have been doing something right. Heck, I still watch the reruns on Nick at Nite. It was a great show and it’ll be hard for another show to top its success.
I have to laugh at the comments people made about the show not being realistic. Are any other shows all that realistic? For Pete’s sake, it was a comedy program, not a Show & Tell! There isn’t anyone else on the planet who can be as serious or as funny as Mr Cosby is, so let it be what it is and enjoy…or change the channel to something you consider more realistic. Geez!
