Jill Scott graces the cover of the September issue of Essence Magazine. Scott, who just wrapped filming Tyler Perry’s upcoming movie ‘Why Did I Get Married,’ which will also star Janet Jackson, will touch on her recent divorce from Lyzel Williams in the cover story which was done by best-selling author Terri McMillan.

Update: The couple welcomed daughter Shayla Somer on Wednesday, July 11th. She was born 2 1/2 weeks before Norma’s due date at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Shayla apparently has a head full of hair and looks just like mom.
